Since the beginning of the war, Valerie has stayed in Ukraine, in her hometown of Kharkiv, which is subjected to daily shelling. She continues to create photo art despite the heavy military activity in the region. Since 2024, Valerie's main residence has been in Kyiv.

Her journey as an artist began at the age of 11 with her debut at the music school's concert at the main stage of the city's opera theater, and at 13, her painting was showcased as one of the main exhibits at an art school exhibition.
